Mass spectrometry

Mass spectrometry is the technology based on ionization and fragmentation of sample molecules. Since molecules fragment in a unique manner, the resulting ion fragmentation pattern can be used to obtain structural information for a given molecule. At Alfa Chemistry, high resolution mass spectrometry will be used to characterize the structure of detergents.

NMR spectroscopy is a physicochemical technique used to obtain structural information about molecules that is based on the interaction of an externally applied radiofrequency radiation with atomic nuclei. We will use high-resolution 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy to determine the atomic connectivity and structural conformation of detergent molecules.

Elemental analysis is the classical method to obtain information about the elemental composition of an unknown substance, which is mainly used to determine the content of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur or oxygen (C, H, N, S/O) elements in organic materials.
